The Prochain Solutions Membership Dashboard provides resources for Critical Chain Project Management, including tools to improve task engagement and productivity, virtual network building courses, and the Project GPS Playbook to implement effective project management strategies.
Critical Chain Resources
Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) is a method that emphasizes the importance of task engagement and personal productivity. These free resources aim to alleviate the tyranny of deadlines and reduce the inefficiencies associated with multitasking.
A common issue in project management is the uncontrolled initiation of projects, which can lead to fragmented efforts and decreased overall productivity. The Critical Chain approach helps to address these challenges by prioritizing tasks based on their impact on the project’s critical path. Engaging team members effectively in their tasks is crucial for maintaining momentum and ensuring timely completion of projects.
The Multitasking Game is a practical exercise that illustrates the detrimental effects of juggling multiple tasks simultaneously, reinforcing the value of focused effort and controlled project starts.
By understanding and applying these concepts, teams can enhance their productivity and manage deadlines more effectively, leading to successful project outcomes.
Virtual Network Building
Learn to build even complex project networks virtually! This course is intended for people who already have some experience building project networks with teams. The package includes the following components:
- A video of approximately one hour describing how to use the Stormboard virtual whiteboard software and the ProChain macros to build effective project plans, with a remote team
- An installation file that will install macros to convert project plans from Stormboard to Microsoft Project
- A user’s guide for the Virtual Whiteboard Macros
Project GPS Playbook
The Project GPS Playbook is designed to get your started with the ProChain System. It shows exactly how the system works and why it is so effective. It also gives project managers some tangible first steps they can take to begin deriving real, concrete benefits from it.
The course helps you develop your very own Playbook. We provide you with the five basic plays that all project managers should follow, and we explore the subject matter in enough depth that you can begin to tailor each play to your special situation. You start the course with our playbook; you finish with your playbook. Each of the five episodes contains a video lesson. Each episode also includes a student handout, designed to facilitate your learning and help you formulate an action plan.
